IS YOUR BOILER BEHAVING BADLY ?

Or for that matter, your fridge? Washing machine? Lightbulbs?

If you want to be an energy saver, the Energy Efficiency Recommended logo helps you identify and buy energy efficient products.

This logo can be found on a whole range of products, from lightbulbs and heating controls to dishwashers and washing machines. Only products with the Energy Efficiency Recommended logo mark meet or exceed Government energy efficiency standards.

The logo mark is a guarantee that the product you choose will help you to reduce energy wastage in your home, as well as benefiting the environment and costing less to run than your old badly behaving one.

We all need heat to make our homes cosy and warm during those winter months. But is your home unnecessarily warm? If so, too much heating could be almost as uncomfortable as no heating at all. And your home is wasting energy and costing you £££'s.

If your heating system isn't energy efficient, then it's behaving badly. Installing a nice new energy efficient one will save you money and heat your home more effectively.

The Worcester Greenstar range meet these energy saving requirements

1. With a heating output of up to 25.3kW and a domestic hot water flow rate of 9.5 litre/min (2.1 gpm) at 35deg. C the Greenstar is suitable for most sizes of one-bathroom properties.

2. As the Greenstar delivers hot water at mains pressure it is ideally suited to providing a powerful shower.

3. The Greenstar can be sited where space and water storage is a problem.

4. The Greenstar is particularly suitable for starter homes, as the appliance may be used for hot water only with radiators being added at a later date.

5. With its ability to modulate down to 6.7kW, the Greenstar operates at optimum efficiency, even on low heating loads.

6. The Greenstar is very low in both NOx and CO2 emissions and is very suitable where these points are an issue.

Key features of the Greenstar include
The pre-heated domestic hot water heat exchanger. After the store has reached temperature hot water is delivered instantly to the outlet being operated. The temperature and frequency of the recharge of the store may be pre-set. Modulating central heating and domestic hot water outputs, combined with separate consumer controls, also mean that comfortable temperature levels for both can be set independently of each other.

Hot water mode
Whenever a hot water tap is turned on, the incoming water mains will activate a flow switch which, via the electronic control system, ignites the burner. Boiler output is automatically boosted to maximum to heat the incoming cold water as it passes through the hot water heat exchanger. Electronic controls modulate the boiler output downwards to ensure that the hot water temperature remains between 40-55deg. C (as set by the consumer).

Central heating mode
On demand for central heating, the boiler will initially operate at minimum output, before modulating upwards to meet the actual system demand, electronics within the boiler continually monitor the heating flow temperature, increasing or decreasing output on demand. A built in bypass and automatic anti-cycling device make the Greenstar particularly suitable for use on systems where thermostatic radiator valves are to be used.
